This may be a dramatic way to start the post, but I just have to say that I love life sometimes. This wedding was so wonderful in so many ways. One of my very best friends when I was growing up in Hingham belonged to a large and loving extended family that was made up with lots of cousins that were all around our age. I spent many hours with this wonderful family and they always extended their homes and love to me. As it often happens, through the years we all fell a bit out of touch. Through the wonders of facebook I reconnected with one of the aformentioned cousins and they asked if I could shoot the upcoming wedding of one of the girls in the family that I grew up with. It was fairly last-minute and meant I would be shooting while 9 months pregnant – but I couldn’t say no to seeing my favorite family again.
With these rings… | Hingham Wedding Photography
June 6, 2010I’ve just begun editing Jennifer and Jeremiah’s beautiful wedding that I shot yesterday, but I couldn’t wait to share a few shots that I took of the wedding rings. I have over 1500 photos to go through, but hopefully I’ll have a full post of all the great photos up soon.

Much much more to come!

I’ve been blogged! …and other updates
May 21, 2010My recent e-session by the Charles River with Rebecca & Jason has been picked up by Whimsical Wonderland Weddings out of the United Kingdom. The blogger, Louise, is a sweetheart and I’m honored that she liked my work enough to feature it. There are many examples of inspiring photography on the site, please give it a look!
In other news, klc photography is now an officially registered business! I’m excited that my business continues to grow, and while I have to start paying taxes, I also get to write off my expenses – hello new camera!
I have begun to print and frame many of my photos from India & Nepal. If you’re interested in purchasing any of the photos, please contact me. I’m offering framed prints for as little as $25.
And finally, many/most of you know the news, but klc photography is expecting a baby photographer-to-be in July…
Since my Valentine’s Day promotion was such a hit I’ll be offering a maternity/baby deal to be announced next week. Keep your eyes here for the details.
Best wishes for a beautiful and relaxing weekend.

Monica & Brian | Boston Wedding Photography
April 29, 2010Sometimes life has a funny way of working itself out. When I saved up my pennies over two years ago to buy my first DSLR I never knew how that little camera would shape my life. Thanks in big part to my trusty Nikon I now have a masters degree, the memories from a trip to a far-away land, and my own little business.
When my favorite trio of WFNX DJs had their morning show axed, many people were very upset. Charlie Padgett of The Sandbox suddenly and unceremoniously found himself without a job. With more time on his hands he started shooting assignments for STUFF Magazine and now he’s started to dabble wedding photography. Getting fired sucks, but Charlie just might have a new career on his hands. So, when he asked me to second shoot I jumped at the chance. I love assisting at weddings because with less responsibility I can just shoot, shoot, and shoot while focusing on my creativity. If you have a minute, roll on over to Little Monkeys Photo and show Charlie some love. In the meantime, please enjoy a few shots from Monica & Brian’s day of love!
Monica runs a bridal boutique and was lucky enough to have her pick of wedding gowns. As you can imagine, she looked gorgeous.

The blue sky belies how chilly it was – Monica was a trooper!

Speaking of chilly, it couldn’t have been more than 40 degrees on the beach, but again, Monica and Brian didn’t complain a bit

And onto the fabulous reception – a toast to the bride and groom to kick things off

The band was an absolute blast and they kept Monica, Brian and their guests dancing all night.

And that’s it…I’m spent!

Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Desmarais!

Kerri & Mike’s Reception | Boston Wedding Photography
March 9, 2010Kerri & Mike’s reception was held at The Lyceum in Salem and the exposed brick, warm tones, and old wood of the venue fit perfectly with the wintery mood of the wedding. The most exciting part for Kate and I was the small balcony that overlooked the dance floor and afforded us an unbelievable spot for shooting the action below. I’m seriously considering bringing a 10 foot ladder to all my weddings to ensure I get shots like these again!
First a few details…
…and now, onto the dancing!! Since I wasn’t the primary shooter of this wedding I had the freedom to experiment and get more creative. I loved playing with exposure and capturing the movement of the dancers. This is absolutely a style I will try again.
Kerri & Mike’s friends and family made for a super fun crowd – they know how to get down. Literally!

and how much fun is some spontaneous breakdancing?
Things did slow down for a sweet Daddy-Daughter dance
…and finally, my absolute favorite shot of the entire wedding. I just love the look of pure joy on Kerri’s face as she receives a kiss from her new husband. They stand still and strong in their love as the world flutters around them. Getting shots like this makes all the hard work worth it.
All-in-all, a wonderful wedding and couple. Bring on the spring and the nice weather – I can’t wait for more shooting!!

Kerri & Mike | Boston Wedding Photography
March 8, 2010I had a blast second shooting with the talented and fun Kate of Crabapple Photography. Our job is always made easier when the couple is as nice as Kerri and Mike. The whole day was beautiful and a great start to my 2010 wedding season.
The First Baptist Church in Stoneham was beautiful, but what made it magical was the bright sun streaming in through the stained glass windows. As photographers we really couldn’t have asked for a better day or better light.
The bright blues and reds of the bridal party were perfect for a winter wedding and the gentlemen of course looked quite dapper as well

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Wilkes!
After the ceremony we were able to steal away for some quick alone time with the bride and groom.
I just love love love the big smile on Mike’s face as he looks at his bride
We didn’t even ask Kerri to jump, she had the idea herself!
More photos to follow soon of the super-fun reception and the break dancing guests!
